Background

The Unipol Midi project is part of Milan's urban landscape and a major landmark in the office building sector. The building complex will house offices and commercial spaces, contributing to the development and redevelopment of the area.

The complexity of this structure and the high degree of automation and computerisation required called for an electrical network capable of ensuring almost total continuity of operation. Particular attention was paid to user comfort, with special care taken in the choice of lighting solutions.

Project Tasks

Cefla was responsible for:

  • The design and construction of the mechanical, electrical, water, air treatment, special and technological systems and fire prevention systems for the building complex.
  • The integration of the systems with the existing architectural structures, ensuring functionality and aesthetics.

Implementation

The project was completed successfully, on schedule and within budget. Unipol Midi is now an example of a modern, sustainable office building with state-of-the-art technological systems that guarantee comfort, safety and energy efficiency.
Cefla was responsible for all the plant engineering – technological control units, mechanical systems, air treatment, water systems, irrigation of green areas, fire prevention, electrical, telephone and data systems, special systems, safety systems, external lighting, ventilation, etc. (see attachment for details of the work) – for Lots 22, 23 and 41. The work also extended to Lots 15-16-17: a laminated wood construction clad in titanium-zinc that houses the restaurant and bar area.
The characteristics of this building make it stand out from the rest of the complex due to its unique nature. The acoustic, natural and artificial lighting and air conditioning systems were designed with carefully selected materials to solve the complex problems arising from the shape and size of the rooms.
The furnishings of the hall, the kitchen equipment, the wine cellar and the efficient distribution and reception system make this project a benchmark for quality.
