Allianz Tower
EPC Contracting for Allianz Tower
Cefla was responsible for the construction of the mechanical systems serving an office building, slab floor and underground car park, developed on the basis of a general sustainability strategy.
Strengths
Integral role in the project
Cefla acted as the EPC Contractor for all the technological systems in the skyscraper, providing a high-performance turnkey service.
High energy efficiency
The plant engineering solutions implemented have been designed to optimise efficiency and contribute to the tower's LEED Platinum certification.
Reliability and operational continuity
The systems have been designed to ensure maximum reliability over the long term, supporting a complex building with high occupancy density.

Background
The Allianz Tower, located in Milan's CityLife district, is one of the most ambitious architectural and engineering projects completed in Italy in the last decade. It houses the Italian headquarters of Allianz S.p.A. and is considered a symbol of innovation and environmental sustainability.
Cefla's integrated approach ensured perfect coordination between design, material supply, installation and commissioning. The tower is now a model of energy efficiency and technological innovation.
Challenges
- Vertical installations
The tower's unique height required a detailed study of the plant engineering solutions, with particular attention to the vertical distribution of all systems. - Optimisation of technical spaces
Maximum efficiency was also achieved in the design of the spaces allocated to the systems, so as not to interfere with the use of office space. - High quality standards
All systems had to meet stringent requirements for LEED certification and environmental comfort.
Project Tasks
Cefla designed and built:
- Air conditioning and ventilation systems (HVAC)
- Plumbing and sanitary systems
- Electrical and special systems
- Automation and control systems
It also managed commissioning and functional testing, ensuring compliance with contractual deadlines and performance.
Realisation
The mechanical systems of the tower include:
- air conditioning systems
- plumbing systems
- fire prevention systems
- automatic mechanical system control.
The building complex is equipped with a number of “private” communal services, located and distributed within the slab floor area. The following mechanical systems were installed here:
- air conditioning and forced ventilation systems for the garages
- plumbing and drainage systems
- fire-fighting systems
- automatic control of mechanical systems.
The parking area is equipped with a natural ventilation system and a mechanical extraction system, supplemented by a ventilation system, which ensure effective air exchange. Two separate collection networks have been built in the Piastra area:
- Sewage network (toilets)
- Rainwater drainage network (rainwater and rain areas)
