          The Unifimm Tower is one of the first ten buildings in Italy to have obtained the ‘gold’ level of international LEED certification, which assesses the entire construction process from an energy and environmental impact perspective.

Background

Torre Unifimm, also known as Torre Unipol, is 127 metres high and is the tallest building in the Emilia-Romagna region. The tower houses the offices of the Unipol financial group and a museum space. The project involved the redevelopment of a former industrial area, with the construction of a complex that also includes a hotel, a fitness centre, a car park and a shopping centre.

        
          Cefla designed and built all the mechanical, electrical and special electrical systems for the entire area.

Main features of the office tower:

Use of clear neutral glass that does not distort colour perception;
Use of protected and adjustable sunshades in the cavity for total light control;
Use of construction technology that ensures greater fire safety by horizontally sectioning the various floors;
Use of renewable energy sources;
Data network system for each individual office and Wi-Fi and GSM coverage in all areas of the tower building, including the basement floors;
Building facades illumination obtained with a colour-changing LED system.
