A new chapter for biogas: Bloom Energy and Cefla are powering the future in Piedmont.

Together with our partner Bloom Energy, we celebrated the official opening of the 1 MW plant - built with Bloom Energy Server™ - at the Riofreddo Agricultural Cooperative Society in Cavallermaggiore. This is not simply another biogas project.

It is 𝗶𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝘀𝘂𝗼 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗮 𝗮𝗱 𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮 𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗶 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶( 𝗦𝗢𝗙𝗖) 𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝗹 𝗯𝗶𝗼𝗴𝗮𝘀 xml-ph-0

𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵é is 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲. For years, endothermic engines have been the standard.
But the "standard" is not sufficient to meet current decarbonization goals. By replacing traditional combustion with Bloom Energy's SOFC technology, Riofreddo now:

-𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘇𝘇𝗮 𝗹𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗮: extracts significantly more electricity from the same amount of biogas derived from grain residues.

-𝗖𝗵𝗶𝘂𝗱𝗲 𝗶𝗹 𝗰𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗼: uses an integrated waste heat recovery module to maintain anaerobic digester temperatures, without the need for external energy.

-𝗥𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗮 𝘀𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁à: supplies clean, reliable and quiet energy to the Italian national grid with the GSE tariff.

𝗜𝗹 𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽. "This milestone was made possible by the synergy between Bloom Energy's world-leading efficiency and Cefla Engineering's historical EPC, construction and management expertise in the Italian biogas-to-power market.
