A larger emergency department, thus increasing from about 1,500 to 2,200 square meters, new equipment, more space for triage, and a new short-term observation with an additional 12 beds, doubling the current ones.
The upgrading of the spaces in the new expansion, which allow for structural and technological adaptation, was handled by Cefla, which coordinated all phases of work, where a large part involved the renovation of electrical, mechanical and special systems, with a new air handling unit serving the new spaces.
Today, March 30, 2026, the inauguration in the presence of the top management of the company and the Umbrian health, the general director of the hospital company Andrea Casciari, the head of the emergency-urgency of "Santa Maria" Giorgio Parisi, the president of the Region of Umbria Stefania Proietti, the prefect Antonietta Orlando, the rector of UniPg Massimiliano Marianelli, the deputy mayor of Terni Paolo Tagliavento and several other representatives of institutions.
