Fuel cells are devices that convert the chemical energy of fuels into electricity and heat, without combustion occurring, as is the case in traditional cogeneration.

For the same power output, electrical efficiency is 20 percent higher, and CO2 emissions are cut considerably.

Clean Energy

Since there is no combustion, Energy Servers produce virtually none of the harmful particles that cause smog formation, cause asthma and worsen public health. We can talk about low environmental impact: in addition to producing energy, fuel cells produce water and carbon dioxide, while pollutants such as NOx, SOx, CO (oxides of nitrogen, sulfur and carbon) are absent, CO2 is reduced, and there is no need for flue gas purification.

  • 98% of the material that is replaced during revamping is recovered and regenerated, in order to avoid a waste of resources.
  • The consumption of water, which is used during start-up, for a few hours is considerably reduced; once the electrochemical reaction is stable, the water is recovered from the wet area.
  • No chemicals: no lubrication oils, or even urea for emission abatement, batteries for starting, or any kind of acid are used.

Cefla has chosen to offer a solution with Bloom's Energy Servers™, which convert fuel into electricity more efficiently than any other power solution available today. By using fuel more efficiently, natural gas-powered servers produce fewer carbon emissions than average.
