A leading player in the plant engineering sector in Italy for more than 90 years, Cefla today invests in multi-utilities and acquires two major contracts with Hera spa, for the construction and management of integrated water cycle networks.

Cefla was recently awarded 2 important contracts with Hera spa and Inrete Distribuzione Energia, a company of the Hera group, for emergency services, extraordinary maintenance, new constructions and connection of water, sewer and gas networks for the Modena area and the Imola-Ravenna area, the latter together with Fabbri Costruzioni S.r.l.

A duty and an opportunity.

For several years Cefla has been involved in the construction and management of electrical networks (low, medium, high voltage), water and sewage networks, gas networks, and district heating, to support multiservice companies in supplying light, water, and heat to the local residents. Today, safeguarding primary resources is increasingly becoming an act of responsibility, even more so for those working in this field, and to do this, it is essential to protect and make distribution networks increasingly efficient, also in line with European Union strategies and sustainability-related global goals.

Digital management.

Digitization is changing our lifestyles in every sphere. Computerization is the only possible way to ensure efficient management. In order to create fast and secure processes, Cefla has set up, right from the beginning, processes that automate field activities, while preserving the customer's infrastructure.

"Working closely with the customer, we have the opportunity to understand their priorities and to propose innovative solutions that can be supportive with a view to optimization and efficiency-enhancement. In this regard, alongside the day-to-day work of network management and development, we now make use of advanced platforms which, through the integration of technologies such as IOT (field-based sensing) and AI, return the most reliable information to optimize any asset you want to manage, potentially decreasing waste of energy and water, or reducing CO2 emissions."

Massimo Milani, Managing Director, Engineering BU at Cefla

"Cefla aims to stimulate an increasingly active discussion on issues related to the preservation of primary goods, which allow us to live peacefully and which we too often take for granted. We are proud that Hera spa and Inrete have approached us, confirming a 4-year partnership (with an option to renew for 2 more years); our commitment will certainly be aimed at improving the efficiency of the networks, including, where possible, with a preventive maintenance approach."
